Overview
MedReady is a US-based company that was established in 1999 and has over 100,000 adherence technologies operating in more than 10 countries. The MedReady 1700 is an automatic, table top, pill dispenser that is designed to eliminate missed doses and overdosing on medication. It is an easy to use, basic unit that comes with an AC power adapter, rechargeable battery, and a locking lid to prevent double doses. Various versions of the device are operable on 2G, 3G or 4G networks and the device is able to utilize global SIM cards to transmit data to a secure website that can be accessed to track adherence.
How it works
The MedReady holds up to 28 doses and pills that are dispensed automatically to patients up to four time per day. The device signals to the patient when it is time to take the dose. Then the patient has a pre-set amount of time to take the medications before the information is transmitted to the service center. If dose is missed, the unit alerts the call center who will call up to three contact numbers and notify the contacts of the lapse in adherence.

MedReady 1700 has been scored below according to it’s ability to serve the TB market for low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) along Fit for Purpose and Technical Specifications metrics.
