ASCENT Tanzania produced a video on the enrolment of tuberculosis (TB) patients in the ASCENT project, which studies and provides the use of digital adherence technology (DAT), such as the smart pillbox from EvriMed and the 99DOTS medication labels/sleeve, to TB patients to help them complete their treatment successfully.
The video explains in what countries the ASCENT project is currently implemented, in what regions of Tanzania ASCENT is facilitating, and continues on how consent is given by TB patients to participate in the study and use DAT.
The video shows how the health care worker (HWC) evaluates the patient and informs him about the study and the use of the DAT, in this case the smart pillbox. The HWC explains step-by-step how the pillbox works and makes sure it is connected to the platform, in which she can keep track of the medication adherence of the patient.
